Headset mic not good with Squawkbox.?

Featured Replies

I use VATSIM and squawkbox alot. I have a headset with a mic attached on. Whenever i open up suqawkbox and connect on it, it seems that i can hear myself breathe, and i hear all this noise. Does anybody else experience this? If so does anybody know if this is a bug? And if so is there a patch or fix for this? Plus does anybody know when the suqawkbox v3 is suppose to be coming out. Im not sure if they said it yet. Thanx to all in advance. Pedro ;-) ----- [email protected]

Hello Pedro,First of all, I will presume you are using Roger Wilco for communicating via voice, because SB doesn't provides that (it does autotune RW though)That you hear yourself breathing is not a bug, it is rather a not properly configured windows wich is easy to correct. I will give the steps used to do in XP but on other versions it is quite similar and should be easy to find.1. click on start and navigate to the control panel2. open the "sounds and audio devices" panel3. go to the "Voice" tab4. click on the "Volume" button in the "Voice Playback" options5. if the microphone settings are not visible there go to options -- properties and select the microphone, click on OK6. Now adjust the slider underneath "Microphone" or mute it, this should prevent you from hearing yourself.I hope this answers your question, just post a reply if it doesn't and we will try to find other ways :)BTW A release date for a new version of squawkbox has not been mentioned as far as I know.Regards,http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3cad879d0512c04c.jpg
