Question about SB

Featured Replies

I never used SB before and I have a question. Are SID and STAR procedures included in the filed flightplans? If so do they include the respective altitude restrictions or is the cruise altitude the only altitude setting inserted for the flight?I'd appreciate some feedbackThanksClear skies, Happy landings!!!

Hi Ice,Better late than never ;)Inside SB you can set your SID and STAR but for the moment the program does nothing with it (unfortunately). Wether or not you have to file it in your fligthplan depends on the country, for example in The Netherlands you don't but in Germany you do so those are country specific regulations. Most (if not all) SID's include an initial FL to climb to, you can best set your cruise level in SB and set your autopilot to the first altitude constraint. FI if you fly from EHAM and your cruise FL is 380 put that in SB, the EHAM SID's all have FL60 as initial FL so you set your a/p to 6000. When ATC cleares you higher (for instance direct to your cruising level) you just dial in the new altitude (38000).Hope this is clear, otherwise drop another note or contact me by ICQ.Regards,http://www.planet.nl/~vink0017/sig2.jpg
