December 23, 200223 yr Every time I try to use the fly direct option on the FMS I receive the critical error plus "Cannot find xxx.dat file are you sure all dat files are in the same directory as squawkbox.exe?"The short answer is yes there are, for instance if I wanted to fly direct to a vor it would give me the above error and the file it could not find would be vor.dat...and the file is there.Has anyone else had this issue? appreciate some help here.ThanksCatmar
December 24, 200223 yr Okay nobody wants to read or help me with my problem? is the question that stupid that it does not warrant a reply? or is it everyone is full of Christmas spirit?Oh well never mind.Catmar
December 25, 200223 yr Yes I'm sure some people here do want to help you with your problem, but you must understand this forum is pretty slow. Also most people are busy around this time of year since it is Christmas. My only suggestion would be to reinstall Squawk Box. Maybe the .dat files got corrupted and reinstalling Squawk Box should replace the .dat files.Jason

December 26, 200223 yr Jason and Hoss I feel so ashamed to have vented when I did, so appologise to you and everyone on this board for my outburst of childish frustration.I hope everyone had a good Christmas and got all they wanted. Now to the business, Jason I re-installed a couple of times with no change in outcome? and to you Hoss I did not save my sbp plans to the squawkbox directory so that could well be the problem. So I shall do that now and see if it makes the difference.Again I'm sorry for my frustrated outburst.Catmar
December 27, 200223 yr Hi the suggestion by Hoss to put all my .sbp flight plan files in the same directory as squawkbox did the trick... thanksCatmar
