After flying on VATSIM since it's inception, and having flown over 600 hours real time. I was also a member of SATCO where I had over 1200 hours flying time (real time). Today I was barred for leaving my aircraft unattented.I was flying a 6 hour flight from KJFK to KLAX (real time), when I had to answer the phone. I was gone for about 45 -50 minutes, but I wasn't worried because there weren't any controllers up in the U.S.at this time. My flight was 1/2 finished and LAX_CTR wasn't up.Upon my return I saw I was disconnected from the server by the VATSIM staff. It seemed another pilot had attempted to call me and then the Supervisor.I at that point, just discontinued my flight.I have always attempted to fly my flights real time no matter how long they are, and remain at the controls. I always tried to maintain a professional demeanor while flying.Because I was away from the controls during a period when perhaps there were only 20 planes flying across the country at that time, and be barred from flying is totally unfair.I now feel that the type of flying I enjoy (flying the heavies), may no longer be possible, unless I never leave the flight deck.Harv and the rest of the Staff at VATSIM who know me, should have at least given me a warning, not bar me from flying online.I will wait until I am allowed to return.Joe Hill811710

www.vatsim.net"Document Library" in the left-hand frame."Code of Conduct" on the resulting page.Section A, paragraph 9 reads (and has done for a VERY long time):"9. When logging on to the VATSIM.net network, a member is not permitted to leave his or her connection unattended for a period in excess of thirty (30) minutes. If a member is unable to comply with this requirement, then he or she must log off of the VATSIM.net network. A member who is found to be unresponsive for more than thirty (30) minutes is subject to immediate removal from the network. Members who are found to repeatedly leave their connections unattended are subject to the terms of Article VI. of the VATSIM.net Code of Regulations."From the message that you get every time you connect:"By using your VATSIM assigned identification number on this server youhereby agree to the terms of the VATSIM Code of Regulations and theVATSIM User Agreement and the VATSIM Code of Conduct which may be viewedat www.vatsim.net/docs.html. All logins are tracked and identificationnumbers are recorded.Users must enter their real full first names and surnames when loggingonto any of the VATSIM.net servers. Rev. 01-10-02 2342Z"You have read them, haven't you?

Richard I never read this before, but I am not going to make excuses.I am aware of this paragraph now.I still feel a warning would have been better. I am not going anywhere, so I will just wait until I can return. How will I know when I can return?Joe

I haven't looked up your record but the email you got told you how long the suspension was. If it was a first offense, it was probably 24 hours.Note that reactivations happen once a day at 2355ET. If the of the suspension isn't complete at that time, it happens the next day when the job runs at 2355ET.cz
