FS9 and squawkbox issue

I noticed tonight after using FS9 and squawkbox 2.3 two items that I previously experienced in FS2002.1. I no longer can see the SB message in the green box that scrolls across the top of the FS screen. I hear the sound and have to switch over.2. I no longer can see other a/c in my area. ATC can see me but I can't see others.Have I forgotten a setting in FS9 to enable these things?Thank
