Hi,I appreciate the notice - I was very excited to participate in my first fly-in and love Delta (live in Orlando and Gold Medallion frequent flyer). I planned and flew a flight from DFW that arrived about 17:15 EST. I was a bit disappointed to find that there was no control in the ATL area (Tower finally arrived a little before I landed). I thought that a fly-in implied that there would be ATC coverage to meet all the incoming or departing flights. Is that a misconception on my part?Liam S. Liam,Normally you would expect full ATC coverage for a fly-in, however, we only received a seven day notice that the event was occurring. I invite you and any other pilots to join us on Sunday, April 14th from 1800-2200 EDT for the "AFA Fly in/out" of the Atlanta airspace. We have been planning this event with AFA for over a month and will have full ATC coverage for the area. Information is available at our website http://members.tripod.com/atl_artcc/index.htm or at the American Flight Airways website, http://flyafa.com/atlflyin/ . Hope to see you then,Michael StanfordEvents CoordinatorVATSIM's Atlanta ARTCC
