About Publishing Weather Information...

I live in the KBOS area and study meteorology. I have created websites in the past for weather information. I realize that there is no real way of finding weather forecasts ahead of your flight other than scouting the internet to find info. I would like to know if I can/should post weather advisories for the KBOS area. I am willing to fly my aircraft up to 40,000 ft msl to plot VATSIM weather conditions and post any NOTAMS here. I think this should be done daily to keep pilots aware of imposing weather conditions that could cause a dangerous flight. I also see that ATIS dosn't display severe imposing weather conditions but rather lists current conditions.Thank you,Doug HarringtonRIWS

I'm sure the Boston crew would appreciate any PIREPs you file with the applicable controller. When I do my flight planning I check the METAR/TAFs to get a heads up on any weather that may be brewing... I also check the Graphical Area Forecasts which we're lucky enough to use up here in the frozen north and any upper level wind charts I have access to.Perhaps if you have knowledge of working with HTML and you obviously know your 'met' stuff you'd consider a website to allow for pilots using VATSIM to check weather resources so they too can be ready for anything that shows up. Just an idea. I'll be in training soon for Flight Services so I'm trying to brush up on my met. too.All the best,Dan PergauOttawa, Canadadpergau@sympatico.ca
