XP & Multiplayer

Recommended Posts

Guest

I use Vatsim quite a bit and am comfortable with SB, RW etc. However, I have recently been trying to use FS Multiplayer to hook up with a friend using him as host. We are having some troubles (he can see me but I can't see him).In an attempt to rectify this, I want to be the host, but as I am unfamiliar with XP, I can't figure out how to find my IP address. Can anyone help? (Yes, I do disable the XP firewall).Cheers.

There is more than one way to see your IP but here is a simple one for you.If you are NOT on a home network, click "Start" then "All Programs" then "Accessories" then "Command Prompt". On the command line type "ipconfig" without the quotes. If you ARE on a network and use a router, access the router and look at the status page, or whatever it is called in your equipment. To get wider exposure to questions for direct (private) multiplayer in FS, you might want to visit and post on the MS Flight Simulator General Forum here at AVSIM.
