[EVENT] Sunday 1/25/04 - ZSE's Puget Sound Poker Run

http://www.seaartcc.net/zse/events/pokerru...ressed-pspr.jpgWe're just 5 days away from some awesome IFR action up here in the Northwest. If you haven't heard about this great event, you need to check it out! Here's a bit about the event. Many pilots participated in last May's Puget Sound Passion, an event thatfeatured VFR traffic between six Sound-area airports. We wanted to revisitthe fun of last year, but with a little twist... This year's event will follow the popular 'Poker Run' format, similar tomany general aviation and even non-aviation events held in the real world. The idea is thus: Pilots will fly IFR (it is January and the Northwest, after all) between5 Puget Sound-area airports, starting at 1300 PST / 2100Z. We'll providecontinuous high-quality ATC coverage, of course. Each time a pilot lands, they will be 'dealt' a card by one of our controllers, who will keep trackof who has what cards. Since we're staffing 5 airports for the event, eventuallyall pilots'll have 5 cards and thus will have a poker hand. Once the eventis over (1700 PST / 0100Z), we will compare the poker hands of each pilotand determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places! Then what? Bragging rights, right? Well, a little bit more... 'cause we gotsome very, very, nice prizes we're itching to give away to some lucky pilots.Visit the event's website at http://poker.seaartcc.net/, and read up on thematerials you'll need for the big day. This will be a huge event! We'll see ya January 25th! If you haven't already, join our events mailing list and be the first toknow about events!
