I have finally got everything set, I think.I still have some questions about flightplans and whatnot1.) I wanted to sim a flight from KBOS direct to KMIA. I contacted Boston center for clearence delivery..and got no readback, he just said approved and told me to contact ground. What did I miss?2.)I contacted ground and requested to taxi to the active and the controller told me I needed clearance first. huh?? thought I had just done that.3.)I also want to make sure I file the flight plan correctly. I filed KBOS -D-> KMIA and included the other information, altitude, ETE, Fuel, etc.... Am I correct?4.) Any other info I need to know before I try this again???Thanks.

First of all, What I think Boston center was telling you was to contact ground to get your clearance, not him. If center is the only one online in the area you are in, THEN you can contact them for your clearance.

Probably. It's also highly unlikely that you're going to be cleared direct to anywhere long distance like that. Try one of the flight planning sites (or the ARTCC web sites) if you're unsure as to what a good route would be. I know the Boston web site is a good place to start...
