Why do you need FSUIPC for MS2004 and VATSIM?

I had to install this program but I am really not sure why I needed it? What does FSUIPC exactly do I really don't get it?I thought that FSUIPC was a payware program but yet it didn't ask me to pay anywhere, so what is this all about?Thanks

FSUIPC is a freeware with additional payware-function.You only need the freeware version.Lennart SAS202

FSUIPC is the link that alows programs to interface with FS. Saves every person out there having to build a module to make there software work with FS
