Cant' get Past Searching For Games

Featured Replies

I have a guide which i'm following and do everything it says up until the where you click on search for games and then it just stays searching where my guide says SBRelay - Squakbox2 (1/814) Should come up???? I am using FS2004 with SBRelay. Any ideas as i've spent hours trying to get this to work. Thanks Lee.

Sounds like a firewall problem. When you start SBRelay do you get the red line saying FS2002/2004 servers started? What guide are you looking at? Try the Vatsim 103d at www.vatsim.net/prc it will give you firewall ports you may need to open if your using a router.Have a look at this as well http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/sbrelay/help.html

Thanks i think it may be a firewall problem aswell but that last link reccomends disabling the firewall altogether? is this safe?I have mcaffee personal firewall maybe i could try uninstalling this and installing zone alarm or similar? What do you think.I do get the red line saying srevers started.

That link is suggesting disabling hardware firewalls in routers or cable modems only not software ones. Needs to be a little more clear on that :) At last check McAfee caused problems for some people with FS2004, Norton had the same problem. Something about Multi-player problems with most on-line games. Only way around them was a uninstall of the firewall, sometimes shutting them down still would not work.Zone Alarm free version works great, even WinXp SP2 firewall works ok, only problem I have found with it is port 80 is held open. Not sure if thats a Microsoft thing for updates or not.
