I'd like to run just AVC and connect to voice servers to listen only.AVC complains that I need to be logged onto VATSIMSo I fire up SB and SB complains that I don't have FS running.Thanks-John Alesse (N629MN)

Just start the whole thing up - go to wherever you want to listen (EG KLAX)file a flightplan KLAX-KLAX and in the remarks section put "Observing" . Then position your self out of the way on the field and just let the controller know you're there just observing ( or in your case - listening).You shouldn't get any problem. AVC is tied to SB in order to stop RT " hooliganism" where people could log onto the voice only and then set about disrupting things( Used to happen with Roger Wilco).

Or just get good ole Roger Wilco and you don't have to start everything.

I would bet RW support will not be around much longer, now that AVC is out in full swing.Other thing you can do is just use ASRC.
