November 17, 200421 yr I have followed the install directions for FS 2004. I have used Vatsim for awhile and had to take some time off this last year due to the birth of my son. Now he is older and I have more time to get back into my favorite hobby. Here's the problem. I start everything up and it all seems to be working except that I can not see my position on the ATC Display Applet website. Another thing I had noticed is on the SB FMS screen, my position does not register either. My Lon and Lat is 0000..Also, in the previous verson of SB I used to use, when I connected SB, my Roger Wilco would launch at the same time. I do have the option checked to use RW, but nothing happens.Running Win XP SP2 (a new clean install)Firewall is turned offPorts are DMZ to this pc.Any ideas?
November 17, 200421 yr I found myself on the ATC Applet. My long and lat is 0 x 0. I am sitting west of Africa. Though on my FS screen, I am park at Schaumburg Reagional Airport (06C).Any ideas as to why I am not showing in the right spot guys and gals?
November 17, 200421 yr It sound that you got the problem airplane goes to origo.Look in applet origo position Lat 0 Long 0.Make sure you have registered FSUIPC correctly.Lennart Vedin SAS202.
November 17, 200421 yr One user say register solved the origo-problem, thats all I got sorry.Lennart Vedin SAS202.
November 17, 200421 yr start FS, open the modules menu select FSUIPC abnd then select "register an applicaion"Name of application == "squawkbox"(without the quotes)Serial number = LWVQ 7I2V 9GPB( note digit 6 is a capital "i")DAve
November 17, 200421 yr Nope, that didn't do anything different. I am still sitting at long 0 and lat 0. I see there are others where I am too.One note: this time when I loaded it, it prompted me that the aircraft was not compatible. I chose no when prompted.Any other ideas?
November 17, 200421 yr You don't mention SB Relay - do you have this?If not - ypu do need it for the system to workDon't use Roger Wilco - you should have AVC nowDave
November 17, 200421 yr Visit the VATSIM Pilot Resources center and check out the step by step instructions - sounds like you're doing something wrong somewhere in the setup.DAve
November 18, 200421 yr I have reviewed the steps and I do believe I set up everything right. But it appears my only option is to deinstall all sb and fs stuff and do a clean install. I kind of wish the instruction were a bit more refined for a 2004 install.I will post my results and we can go from there. At least if it works maybe people who are hopeless might see that a clean install does the trick. :)BTW, one thing I did notice is that I am not the only one with that problem. If you launch the ATC Applet Display, you will see many people connect and are also set at Long. 0 and Lat 0. Thing is, that is right on the water. So maybe others will recognize this and contribute there finds as well. I really want to fly bad. I've got the bug.
November 20, 200421 yr I peformed a complete uninstall and reinstall of everything. I am still experiencing the same issue. If you ever watch the ATC Display Applet you will see there are many people that appear in the same location I am. Someone please help. I am becoming so discouraged.
November 20, 200421 yr The fact is that this problem is quite common and is very nearly always to do with not getting Squawkbox or Servinfo correctly registerd with FSUIPC.JUst check (I know you've done it before- but try again).....1:You have an up to date version of FSUIPC.2: You have entered the registration codes etc correctly.................... ServInfo.exe Product: "ServInfo", Company: "Michael Frantzeskakis" KEY = HEXV 7QNT FQ0F SquawkBox.exe Product: "SquawkBox 2.3", Company: "None" KEY = LWVQ 7I2V 9GPB Dave
