ServInfo FIR vs. VATSIM FIR

Featured Replies

Hello, I have just installed and sucessfully used ServInfo 2.02However, I have noticed some strange things happening in the Oceania region: In ServInfo there are only 2 FIRs in Australia: YMMM and YBBBIn the ATC applet on VATSIM there are many more than 2.Why?Same thing with New Zealand...as I speak, the VATSIM applet shows NZWN_CTR online , while ServInfo shows NZZC online. So, for example, if I were in Christchurch, would I be in controlled airspace or not? VATSIM tells me no, while ServInfo tells me I would!Anyone else noticed this? Any other regions of the world in which this happens? Is there an update for the ServInfo Fir.dat file to update the FIR boundaries to match VATSIM's ones? Thanks!Paolo.

Paolo,The updated FIR boundaries for the Oceania region are available at http://www.compass-virtual.org/zips/servin...tpac_090804.zipThe VATPAC website reads thus:A new update has been prepared which will give you the new boundaries, the correct FIR boundaries and all the aerodromes in the new sectors. NEW UPDATE AS OF 09 AUG 04 includes: * all licensed aerodromes in Australia and NZ * all Australian aerodromes associated with a navaid and/or with a published instrument approach * all VATPAC weather stations (with the exception of YPCD) * codes for Airbus A330 and A340 variants * all new sector boundaries
