Weird problem with disconnections

Featured Replies

Hello!I've been having this very strange problems when trying to fly online in Vatsim.I connect, file the plan, contact the ATC, begin the flight... etc, the usual stuff. Then suddenly it just disconnects me and not only that, it also kills the active internet connection. I was a dial-up user until not too long ago, so I thought it was a problem of the modem I used that was known for having that sorts of problems and sudden disconnections (Intel 536EP was it).I switched to ADSL and I thought my Vatsim problems would be over, but I tried a flight and it would still disconnect me and kill the connection (I had to disable the connection and then enable it again for it to work again after the disconnection).I thought it was SB3 then, and I switched to FsInn but it would still have the same problem.I haven't been able to finish a flight in long time, sometimes it will disconnect me in 15 minutes, sometimes it will let me fly for an hour... but it will always disconnect me and kill my connection, no matter what I try.Do you know what could it be?Any advice?Has happened to anybody before?I'm a Vatsim user like since 2002I use Windows XP SP1, FS 9.1.SB 3.1 (also tried the latest version of FsInn)Any other details please ask and I'll reply ASAP.I'm quite annoyed by this, as I love flying in Vatsim.Greetings!

I'm sorry you're having such problems. I'd suggest you ask in the vatsim forums at http://forums.vatsim.net/There aren't many people in this avsim forum who are likely to have enough expertise to help.In the meantime, has this always been a problem, or is it comparatively new; did it use to work with SB2.3? And did you change anything, like new computer equipement, or a firewall or something before the trouble started? Do you have a router? The more information you can give the guys on the vatstim forums, the more likely they'll be able to help youRuthVice-President, Communciations, VATSIMwww.vatsim.net

Hi!:I already posted this at Vatsim Forums as well.Well, it used to work perfectly with both SB 2.3 and 3.1. The problem is comparatively new and was born out of nowhere as I hadn't changed anything in configuration or hardware.I have a router now as I got ADSL installed, but the problem began when I was a dial up user and had no router.I'm going to completely reinstall Windows and Flight Simulator though, I'm in the middle of downloading the update for 9.1. Let's see if with this reinstalling the problem can be sorted out.Thank you very much!

Then try to connect as normal and describe the results.-- L. James----------------------L. D. [email protected]/~ljames
