PeterK I still love this web page.....I have no Idea what the mainobjective is when this guy is done or what program will evenbe used...But give him creddit how many people have brought an F15Carcass home to rest...Pete

Nice pictures, Gene. Nice work too, for that matter. I had a chance to see Ubisoft's demo of the upcoming LO-MAC at the AvSim conference. Most impressive! Judging by your references to it on your site I gather it has caught your attention. Will you be using it in your sim?Mikewww.mikesflightdeck.com

Thanks Mike. Yes, I'll be using LO:MAC with the simulator. I just completed an updateof the website showing the details of the MPCD reconstruction. Here's the "ultimate" LO:MAC screenshot:http://www.f15sim.com/images/lock_on_mpcd.jpg:)-- http://www.f15sim.com - The only one of its kind.

PeterKGene... I dont mean this In any put down really...What is this F15 going to do when your done?????Im really interested in what software is going to run the system? Is there a projection screen involved? Will it move in any fashion? Is this going to use somehtning like fs2002 or Janes f15 or do youHave the real USAF simulator software or even the older camera systemlooking over a 3d terrian map?The front end of an f15 is on ebig piece of machinery..there very hard to move when removed from the rest of the airframe...pete

Gene,I must admit, you've got some pretty neat toys there! How are you planning to integrate your hardware into LO:MAC? (Or visa versa) I didn't think to ask the Ubisoft guys what sort of hooks are available. Guess I was just too blown away by the detail in the images and smooth flying. The guy was demoing an A-10 doing some low level flight, and all I could think of was a demo I saw ten plus years ago of a really expensive simulation (a bunch of SGI boxes and a stable of programmers) done for the military, and that this was better and a whole heck of a lot cheaper.Anyway, what options do you have for getting data in and out?Mikewww.mikesflightdeck.com

No offense taken Pete.Currently the software of choice is going to be FS2k2, simply because I can most easily get systems data from it as well as run multiple outside cockpit views. The outside views will be provided by 800x600 LCD projector panels sitting atop 4000 Lumen overhead projectors. The images will be rear-projected against a white .030 ABS plastic screen. For the initial version of the video system, there will be three projectors. One forward and two for left and right. Eventually there will be 2 more added as left/right rear and another 2 that show left/right rear quarter. The simulator won't move. Motion bases require a lot of building prep and hydraulic systems that I don't have. The simulator will use Fly8, Flight Gear, FS2k2, CFS2/3, WWIIOL, LO:MAC, and maybe Falcon 4. Complete systems modelling will only be present in the Fly8, Flight Gear, FS2k2 and CFS2/3 modes. The cockpit itself is on what I call the "transport" frame. It's a "U" shaped frame made of 4x4 that has 2 outriggers on each end and a bunch of 2" casters. There are two of these in use.Any other questions? :)g.-- http://www.f15sim.com - The only one of its kind.

PeterK Well gene...Im impressed...I dont have the time or passionnot to say an empty garage to even attempt a thought..Keep up dating the web site..I stop by a bit and i Have it posted at my web site as a link too...I have F15a's and B's At the National guard Base 10 miles from my house..Were in line with runway 5 so Ill get the occasional long straight in approach from a pair of f15s...After sept 11,2001 A pair of f15s would pass outbound to NY city at 7:35pm and at 1:35am for months after until the patrols were cut back..Pete

PeterKGene,,,What is FLY8..???? you mention this in a earlier message..Seen an F-18 and a F-111 cockpit on the web but still your's is theonly f-15 iv seen so far on the web...pete

>PeterK >Gene,,,What is FLY8..???? you mention this in a earlier >message.. >Peter, Fly8 is a wire-frame jet combat sim created by Eyal Lebedinsky(sp?). You can find the source code and binaries at ftp://ftp.simpits.org/pub/Fly8 or fly8, I don't recall which.>Seen an F-18 and a F-111 cockpit on the web but still your's >is the >only f-15 iv seen so far on the web... It IS the only F-15 cockpit out there. So much so that it's the only example you'll found outside a museum and even then the USAF still owns the museum airframes. Mine's the only privately owned one. I just wish I had the rest. :)g.-- http://www.f15sim.com - The only one of its kind.
