737NG Electrical Meter?

Featured Replies

Hi!I'm currently planning out the electrical panel for my project, and I was wondering if anyone had any info on the actual 737NG meter display? I *think* it's a small color LCD display, but I'm not sure (hard to find pictures & info :))http://www.project737.net/images/ngmeter2.jpg(the "real thing")Thanks a ton for any help!Brandon

HiTry browsing through this site :http://www.b737.org.uk/It's a wealth of information on all types of the 737!And it also has photos and descriptions of 737 parts including the electrical panel of the NG you search for.Something similar for the 757/767 can be found athttp://www.767.org.uk/ but the site is still under construction and is not full of information yet.I think you will find these links usefull.Cheers,George DorkofikisAthens, Hellas

Thanks! That is one of my favorite sites :)I don't know how I missed the great NG panel photo on the electrics page during my previous visits (unless it was updated recently?)( http://www.b737.org.uk/electrics.htm )I didn't find any info on the actual display technology, however. It's hard to tell what the real panel uses (for me at least!) It doesn't look like a basic monochrome backlit lcd display judging by the contrast & vibrance in most photos. I'm leaning towards using a small (~4") color lcd screen driven from an additional video card, but that seems kinda overkill. Guesses, anyone? :)Brandon

Hmmm... :-rollIt sure doesn't look like LCD.It looks more like a plasma screen to me...Or kind of those old LED displays some calculators used to have.I have a rather old Texas Instruments calculator that has almost the same look on its screen.Did you try asking boeing? Eee... on second thought, better not...You may get in trouble! ;-)Cheers,George DorkofikisAthens, Hellas
