Visiontek closes up shop & AMD's 2600

Thought that you might like some good and bad news..HardOCP has two stories.... Hmm.. sorry I am little dumb. Can someone explain this Athlon XP2600+ stuff for me. This is a normal Thoroughbred right? Not the new 64-bit Hammer. I can use this one with my "old" MSI K7T266-Pro2-Ru mobo, BIOS update provided right? No need for a new mobo?Pls some of you computer wizkids shed some light on this fr me.Alex

AMD is unbelievable that is great horsepower for the $$$$. I am running an AMDXP2100 and it blazes....the 2600 will burn like the sun!!!!RegardsTony Ascaso, RN

Man,now my CPU is ooold!Less then a year ago I was a happy camper with my 1500+ XP and now they are offering something twice as fast. I wonder how fast the CPUs will be a year from now...? 3Ghz..4Ghz?The price diffrence is quite large thought. The 2400+ has a great price.http://turnhead.com/dot/alex/banner-retro-cool.gif
