June 29, 200223 yr FolksI've written a small app that allows any physical key stroke to be mapped to any other key stroke PLUS a destination window.Example, suppose we have two apps, both of which need F1 to do something. My little app will allow you to assign the "a" key to F1 in app1, and "b" to F1 in app2. I'm using it with Project Magenta stuff, but it works with any app that accepts key strokes. Given this, I'm using a stripped-down keyboard wired to a bunch of momentary keys to build an MCP for an Airbus. Works pretty well too and you dont have to worry about task switching to get the key strokes to the right app. (And if you use a rotary enc mapped to a key, that works great too!)If anyone wants a copy of the app, drop me a line at [email protected] T
July 1, 200223 yr App has been uploaded to Avsim. Do a search for KeyDirect*Comments welcome, as are requests for additional functionality.RegardsDave T
July 1, 200223 yr Thanks for the app. Always nice to see stuff like this pop up. It's the little things that make a home builder's job easier!Derek
July 4, 200223 yr FolksI've extended the "Small App" so that key-sequences to apps can be generated from key presses on the joystick too. (Think RogerWilco for example). I'm using it to send streams of characters to an MCDU without resorting to the keyboard. Its working well with my MS SideWinder joystick, but I'd like to try it with some other joysticks. Any volunteers? If you've downloaded the KeyDirect.zip package from this site, and would like to try the new version with joystick mappings, drop me a line at [email protected] Once I have it working with a number of different joysticks, I will, of course, upload the extended application. Thanks for any and all helpRegardsDave T
