What is the point of all the panels?

Featured Replies

PeterK Maybe I missed this one... Why all the 1 to 1 scale panels?I mean really whats the point...your kind of stuck flying a boeing777...your fixed on one sim and one airplane...Humor...PeterK

The truly dedicated flight simmer is not limited to a single aircraft. By the time the first sim is complete the kids are grown and have left home freeing up room for a second sim. By the time the second sim is complete, the spouse has given up all hope of ever getting any attention and left, freeing up room for a third sim...Mikewww.mikesflightdeck.com

And if that doesn

Well for me, or to other simmers who loves boeing B757 767 and 777 would make up two or three optional types of plane to fly which has almost exact same kind of panel, two engines throttle quadrant, color, and yokes. we dont think would be stuck with only one plane right (B757,767,777) simmers? yippie-yi-yay! :-beerchug

PeterKseems like the forum has lots of window lookers but few takers..The air bus boys win...im out of here..peterK

The hardest decision is determining what sim to build to begin with. Everybody goes through this. I haven't even begun building mine, yet I've changed my mind on what type to build several times over. Solution:- Step 1/ Build one sim (Main simulator) for international flights (B747 or B777)perhaps with detachable throttles if you still want to fly both 2 & 4engines. BUT obviously you need to be clear about going with either Boeing or Airbus. I'd like an authentic B747 with option to change to B777 or B737 using another set of throttles and let imagination make up for other differences in compromising.Step 2/ Build a smaller sim in a second room that is a generic twin-jet / twin turboprop / twin piston-powered simulator. Again using interchangeable throttles. This sim would be much cheaper to build as well, and you can use the same projector for both sims. But to answer your question re: panels, I would say that they make your sim look authentic, if that's what you want to build.Cheers.Nick

PeterK Well cant argu with a dedicated 777 nut...HIHII spend time flying in fs2002 then over to a fighter jetin mig ally then another night in the battle or brittian..then over to a stock car another night...I guess it takes a certain person to invest everything into 1 jet...Gotway to much software to use just cant see the point of flyinga bus from VOR to VOR...Humor ..Pete
