September 23, 200223 yr no one seems to be answering (or viewing the question for that matter) so I turn to this crowd....OK, so I'm finally getting my three older pc's setup to run wideview in my garage (I've settled on a b17 as my aircraft of choice for this "cockpit")I've downloaded some scenery for the Omaha area, and it requires the Texture2.02 file pack. So I've found that and downloaded it, however there's no readme of any sort. So, does anyone remember back to their FS98 years to help me get this package installed?
September 23, 200223 yr Hi,It's not that you are being ignored, it's that the view counter has been configured to update only when a reply is posted. As for the missing readme file... Would one of the SDKs from MS have anything helpful, possibly?Mikewww.mikesflightdeck.com
September 24, 200223 yr PeterKThere is 2 ways of installing fs98 scenery. If you have a full install of fs98!Find the folder in the scenery call USSW (united states south west)Within this folder are 2 folders called scenery and textures. All the BGL files go into scenery and any r8,oaf or other texture files go in the texture file..Assign the file in the library as 1st position..Another way is to make a folder in the C; drive called Nebraskaunder that file make a scenery and texture folder and put the bglsin scenery and the others in the textures folder...In the scenery library have FS 98 auto detect the new folder in the C; drive when its found activate it and assign it the 1st positionin the display library...hope this helpspete
September 24, 200223 yr Thanks for both of your replies. The nebraska scenery did have a read me, and while I'm a bit familiar with adding fs98 scenery (been so long ago!), it helped fill in the gaps. The problem is actually from a supplemental, but required add on. This file is txtur202.zip (avsim's library only has a "?" for the author. You can find this file in the "FS98 must-have" file section)The file has a total of 11 files, labeled airpt*.oav). Hope this helps
September 24, 200223 yr just wanted to let you all know, as well as document it for future searches....these files do indeed go in the main fs98/texture directory.-Brian

September 25, 200223 yr nothing at all yet. I love the sound of the old bombers in FS2002, so that's the reason for the choice. For now, I'm just going to have three pc's set up in my garage for left/right wing views, and forward view. Granted, I won't have a true cockpit, but this will suffice for now.Maybe over time I'll build upon this (actually, I would love the 172 as posted recently. This would be my true cockpit desire if I had the time/money/space.Anyway, I'll post pics of the setup I will be using once I get the final pc there. I spent last night getting the garage cleaned up for it, so hopefully tonight/tomorrow night I'll be up.
