September 23, 200223 yr Anybody have a the design dimensions on a center console for a 777 ?in particular the power quadrant ??
September 23, 200223 yr Hey Ronwest:I am in the same boat as you, I am looking for accurate 777 dimensions. I have found it tough to get any information from peeps. I do have some dimensions that I would be happy to share with you, I'll send you some stuff later tonight that I have been collecting. What I need are some basic cockpit dims, such as height of MCP above floor, height of seat above floor, yoke height and location, etc.... I am doing my simulator in CAD first, and I am attempting to make it as realistic as possible. I figure it will be a considerable investment in time and money, so I want to do it right the first time, and not have to tear it down several times to get it right. So, I expand on Ronwest's request, if anyone has any good, real dims of the 777 flightdeck, please help out some fellow home sim builders. The only way this community can survive is by graciously sharing any and all information. I certainly am willing. I realize some builders invest a lot of time and money just obtaining information and are reluctant to give it out freely without something in return. We all have different areas of expertise (I'm a mechanical engineer with much CAD experience) and with an open community we can all benefit from each others' knowledge. Okay, I'll stop now. If only I could sit in a 777 for 30 minutes!l8r>Anybody have a the design dimensions on a center console for >a 777 ? >in particular the power quadrant ??
September 23, 200223 yr Gentlemen,Go to www.777Project.cjb.net, I am sure that there you will find what are looking for.rgdsAlberto Kunzel
September 23, 200223 yr Hey guys,My roommates uncle flies the 777. I can ask if he can provide some info. Might be a long shot, so don't get your hopes up, but I guess it's worth asking.I'll reply in this thread when, and *if*, I can get something for you.Dave
September 24, 200223 yr Uh Dave.....do whatever you can...beg, plead, kneel down and bow, whatever it takes. No but seriously, approach this in the right context, seeing as after 911 information like this is now hard to come by. Just make sure he understands this is a hobby, and that all we are asking for are accurate dimensions of the inside of the flightdeck. Tell him that we have all the images of the flightdeck available on the web already (airliners.net), so we just need some dimensions to help us out. I'm sure he will understand. I hope you can come thru for us! Thanks for your help.rotarypower
September 24, 200223 yr Yeah - I will definitely make sure he understands the purpose. I have met him before and he knows about my interest in flight sims. Last time he was in town, I started up FS2002 and jumped in the 777 cockpit. He was pointing out stuff, saying things like "that's look about right", "where is this?", and just generally filling me in on how the sim's version compared to the real thing. I really enjoyed that!I'll do what I can. He seemed to be willing to answer questions before, I just don't know how much work will be involved for him in doing any/all of this. With luck, it will be something he is willing to do. Hopefully I will know in a few days.Dave
October 3, 200223 yr Hey guys, just an update. I've had no luck so far. I don't know if he is hesitant to help or just busy. I'll keep hoping though.Dave
October 4, 200223 yr Hum, what exactly was his response? Maybe you can introduce him into the world of home build flightdecks, he probably doesn't realize it's such a big and growing hobby. I still can't think but that stupid 9-11 really hurt our hobby severly, no more dreaming of getting into a commercial simulator. Please keep on trying...
