December 25, 200223 yr Merry Xmas folks,I am doing some research on a pit (767-300) that I would like to build. After doing some looking on airliner.net, I find that the 777 and the 673 have very similar main panels. Would it be safe to go ahead and research the 777 pit which seems to be more abundant than the 673 pit? The only difference I see after about a few hours of searching is that the 777 has digital standby gauges.TIASTUD
December 26, 200223 yr Thanks for the link! I did some more reasearch and found out that I can use the 777 cockpit pic, which are in abundance, for reference for the 767-300 pit. Thanks
December 26, 200223 yr I think you're wrong with the 767-300 being similar to 777.The 767-300 is similar to 757 cockpit.The 767-400 is similar to the 777.Best Regards,PedroHere's some links to show 767-300, 767-400 and 777.http://www.airliners.net/open.file/265417/L/http://www.airliners.net/open.file/141901/L/http://www.airliners.net/open.file/304368/L/
December 27, 200223 yr Pedro got that right, B767-200, 300 series has similar panel, quadrant, overhead console as B757 series. B767, came up with new glass cockpit in 1995 same time B777 were born. I am currently building one of B767 panel, and I have done lot of research, asking professional pilot, and currently working for boeing avionics/flight simulator technican. I would strongly recommend you, if you decide to build B767, go for B767-400. It'd be much eaiser and conventient for you since all of flight sources such as project magenta/free FD has those kind of glass panels. Good luck
December 27, 200223 yr Thanks guys for the fast info and correcton! Bizzy B, I am also a avionics techincian. Well for the past 9 years. I'm in school going for a EE degree and working on my pilots license. Anyhow...... I have a feeling you have connections to the cockpit layout plans? I was going thru my Gulfstream junk box and I was amazed at all the stuff I have and its importance to making a home sim... too bad im not making a GV or GIV. Hell not to mention all the Honeywell Pilots manuals! Anyhow, do you have any of those prints? If you want and are able to. I can send you some of the drawings(GIV Cockpit)Im talking about.TIAJon
