good information on motion simulator construction

Recommended Posts

Yes, the joyrider site is nice for getting some ideas. Too bad the structure is not capable of lifting more weight. That's why I chose the cable suspension method. Some more links for motion platform info: (partly copied out of older messages in this forum) http://techreports.larc.nasa.gov/ltrs/PDF/...iaa-99-4328.pdf http://www.motionbase.com/http://www.webcom.com/sknkwrks/flightsm.htmhttp://www.ocp.tudelft.nl/sr/Downloads/the...kker/thesis.pdfwww.simcraft.com/Default.htm http://www.senet.com.au/~dunkleyj/motion.htmwww.simpits.org/design/beginning/FighterConstruct/fightercons2.html Anyone having other motion platform links? (especially about homebuilds)ThanksRoland

Hey Roland,I too was thinking of utilizing some sort of suspended cable system for motion on my 757 project. Do you have anything currently built? If so, please share. If not, what are your thoughts? Thanks,Scott

Hi Scott, The following messages in this forum contain some info on my platform. (or do a search on motion platform in this forum)http://ftp.avsim.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboa...rum=DCForumID42http://ftp.avsim.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboa...rum=DCForumID42Last step is the link between flight sim parameters to the axis drive, (X-plane can provide many types of motion drive parameters) but due to my poor programming skills (read: none whatsoever) the project is still on hold :-( If you need pictures, sketches, circuit diagrams, etc please let me know. I was planning a write-up for the library, but first this thing has to work.Roland

Thanks for the links. I was able to view the attachments from the first link but not the second. They have been removed. I am very interested in any additional information you may have when time permits. Thanks again,Scott

The pictures are removed from older messages in the archive, that's why you don't see them. I'll make summary doc of my platform progress so far with updated pictures and schematics. Never figured out how to make a website, so I'll mail it to you or upload to the library. Just give me some time. RgdsRoland
