FSbus Cable length

Recommended Posts

Guest Glenn Weston

Well I have been somewhat drawn in by FSbus & have now etched the ComIII board which is now ready for the components to be fitted, I found the Press-n-peel method using an iron worked fine, took me 2 goes to get the transfer satisfactory for the etch but I got it done. The press-n-peel sheets are available at Jaycar Electronics for anyone in Australia persueing this method. One thing I would be interested to know from any FSbus users, There is a noted Bus cable length of about 10CM for the PIC programming mode, I have come accross cable length probs when programming PICS before but I was wondering once a module is programmed does the cable limit still apply for normal operation, i.e. could you go say 5 Metres with a display controller for example.Cheers Glenn

Thanks for the Reply Peter, I was a bit worried everything had to be close to the comm board in normal mode, so thats a relief.Anyhow I should have at least the comm board & the LED board done this weekend to do some testing.Cheers Glenn.
