Projector question

Featured Replies

Hi there,As fellow homecockpit owner i would like to ask a question to this forum.I am using a Toshiba XGA projector at 1.024x768 wich is beaming towards me.Since i am sitting about 1,5 mtr. i am awaring many dots (pixels) and a much more unclear view compared to a monitor. Is there any projector you know off wich would allow higher resolutions and more important wich will get rid of the pixels i am seeing?Hope somebody can give me some advice.regards,Ben.

Little correction.....I mean i am sitting just 1.50 mtr. from the rearprojection screen.

Hi Ben,what sort of rear projection screen are you using ? It has to be a "blurred" sort of screen, that should actually help...The dots that you see might even be caused by the resolution - 1024 x 768 dots on a large screen - you should be able to see each dot...cheersMathias

Hi Mathias,Thanks for your reply.I use a kind of blend through screen....works o.k.The only problem is that i see every single pixel......Regards,Ben.

You should buy a DLP projector since their fill ratio goes upto 80%(instead of 50% for lcd)Also set the focus on the projector a little bit unsharp.Kind Regards,Wim

Agreed - I am using an NEC LT150 with excellent results. Got it on EBay for $900.Regards -Mitch

Hi Guy's,Thanks for your reply's, i have found and bought a very good projector now......This one (Hitachi cp5500 dlp) gives me high resolutions (1.280x1.024) and more light. It really is a good one but rather expensive. But imho it is worth the buy.regards,Ben.
