July 30, 200322 yr Not yet an adventure but I bought my first USB CH Flight Yoke a couple of days ago. First ever dedicated flightsim hardware. Iching to try it. I'm building a 'Platform' for the desk for it to rest on. The platform will give me the greatest flexibility to move it about (forward/back) as well hold it more securely in place (2 clamps well I'm thinking they aren't going to do?) I know this is a bit of a retrograde as it was this way before CH added the clamps. Not that I think they did a bad thing just that my desk is not the cockpit it could be with the yoke clamped on. I was hoping I could find some plans from the 'Old Days' of non clamped yokeness but it seems they have perhaps gone clamped. Anyway I'm hoping platform or no to be flying with it sometime later today. After the platform and yoke is working well I'm going to try my hand at rudder peddels. This I'm thinking will be a pretty good challenge. I've scene lots of plans for them..First a couple of questions. Does anyone know what the CH Yoke is modelled after (Aircraft Type)? As well are the any kind of enhancements that may make it even better? I am building a chart clipboard for it as well as a some of the other things that go with that. Is there any kind of a chart that can show me the assignments of buttons on the yoke as it pertains to different aircraft. I mostley fly (Light/Heavy Turboprops - General - Bush Aircraft). I know that's a big variance but in general terms what are the assignments on the yoke. For anyone that has one and can help me out??I know that some aircraft fly with a stick (Aerobatic - Combat - Helicopter - even some modern general aviation eg:cirrus 20). I however wanted to do things the way they are done in most aircraft.I greatly admire the dedication some of you apply to this hobby. The work involved in building an entire cockpit is extesive to say the least. The results breathtaking. I first got interested in computers because of flight simulation. Some of you have taking flight simulation to a whole nother level. A yoke is a small thing in comparison but like I said a start. Weather it gets to your guys level well perhaps not but it's alot closer then the stick and keyboard method of flight control...?No doubt about it...Ronson2k
