August 29, 200322 yr Well, I've been lurking around these forums for a year and a half and I finally decided it was high time to pull the equipment together into a home cockpit. Today - with any luck - I'll be getting the PFC Cirrus II console to go along with my GoFlight equipment.I'm a big fan of Flight1's Cessna 421C, so I thought I'd shoot in that direction. Attached are a couple of mockups of the planning stages.I'll also have some CH products laying around (jet throttle, yoke, pedals) possibly for making additional controls.I just wanted to thank everybody who's been posting their ideas here as it's been great fun and very motivating.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/33853.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/33854.jpg
August 29, 200322 yr Hi Chris,Welcome to the group?, bunch?, crowd?, shoal?, flight? (What DO you call a collection flightsim cockpit builders?)You have a very nice mockup. GA simpits are relatively rare on the web. I hope you will document you project with pictures and a web site. Mikewww.mikesflightdeck.com

August 29, 200322 yr >Hi Chris,>>Welcome to the group?, bunch?, crowd?, shoal?, flight? (What>DO you call a collection flightsim cockpit builders?)"An asylum"? :^)That project looks pretty neat! You can also build a panel in front of the instruments, a piece of thin plywood with holes for the gauges might work well.. /Tuomas
August 30, 200322 yr Thanks for the welcome everyone!Tuomas, I do plan to add an overlay once I get some panel layouts done for all the aircraft I fly. In fact it was your GA project that really got me fired up about doing this one! I loved the way the dials looked when they were matted over.I also plan on making a web site of the progress and my thought process when I have a chance. The Cirrus II and pedals came today and judging by my first "landing", I've got a good deal of tweaking to do. What fun!
