September 16, 200322 yr Hi all, here's a small tutorial on how to print multiple PostScript PCB layouts on a sheet of paper, for example for Press-n-Peel (or similar) application. You will need PhotoShop, but I guess any good paint software (like PaintShop) that can read PS files will do as well. The steps described are for PhotoShop. Use the equivelant commands for the program you will use.First of all, we need to use the maximum possible resolution that our printer supports.1. Open the first PCB Postscript file and select a resolution of at least 300dpi (600dpi preffered).2. Set view to Actual Print Size. Normally the PCB will be either at the top left or the bottom left part of the page.3. Set the page properties to the paper size you wish to use (A4, Letter, etc)3. Select the PCB artwork and move it to the top right making sure you leave enough space for margins. If you wish you can place a retrangle around the design to define its limits.4. Save As a new Photoshop file. Give a new name.5. Open the next PCB Postscript file and select the same resolution as you did in step 1.6. Select the PCB artwork and change the view to the previously saved new file.7. Select Edit, Paste Merged8. Move the new PCB to a proper place in the page.9. Repeat steps 5 to 8 as required until you fill the page.10. You can now print the whole page on Press-n-Peel paper (or similar) making sure that you select the actual print size.I suggest you first print it to a plain sheet of paper to check if any PCB layout falls outside the print area and that the size is correct.Only thing left is to cut each PCB and continue with the PCB development. Hope this will be of some help.Regards,George DorkofikisAthens, Greece
