Checking in from the AVSIM Conference

Featured Replies

Hey all...Just checking in from the AVSIM conference in Reading... very cool!Enrico's GA instruments in the FDS Flight Centers absolutely wowed everyone... they look real- you have to get REALLY close to tell they're displayed on a monitor. And the Flight Centers are pretty cool in themselves. The pictures on the web sites really don't don't do them justice. There's a display by a new company named Up Front Simulations that has a panel with some pretty cool looking instruments driven by stepper motors. They weren't running because of a failed HDD, but they should have it running today. They had originally planned to sell their system as a complete unit for PCATD, but they've been getting a lot of interest in the instruments themselves and are considering selling them seperately. The new online ATC/ASRC stuff looks pretty cool - complete integration of voice in to the client, and the upcoming ability to change controllers simply by tuning your radio. All in all a great time so far - great to meet the folks behind the emails! I'll be posting pics to my site in the next week or so.Hey Prather - sure wish you were here!!!Regards -mm
