Real Instruments to sell partially with servos

Featured Replies

Dears,After several month I finally decided to sell all the real Instruments I have since it will be impossible for me to achieve the complete real instrument cockpit I expected to build. It costs too much time and my job does not allow me that time.In order to get a cockpit running in less time I have to go the Magenta way with an FDS Panel or something like that.So thats the list of the Instruments I have:1. Two 5 Inch ADIS. Both are from fighters. One is amazingly absolutely new. Both are empty of all originalmotors and partially equiped with RC Servos.2. One HSI of an F15 fighter. Has not been modified yet.3. Two RMI. One partially modified ( B727) and one still original ( B707)4. One VSI ( B707) O to 5000 feet partially parted out.5. One ASI ( B707) 400 Kts. Original.Furthermore I have several Servo controllers : 2 x Ferrotronics - 1 x Pollolu 16 Servo Controller and 1 x FS BUS servo controller.I also have some used servos and PICs for the FSBUS concept.I also sell a very rare item. It is a Dassault Falcon 50 Business Jet cockpit Panel ( Empty). Its' almost impossible to find. The panel was intented to be used with the real Instruments. See pictures. ( The pedestal is not included)I spent more tan 2000 $ for everything, but will sell it for a fraction of it. Please make a reasonnable offer. I would prefer to sell everything together. It is, indeed, a unique opportunity for a cokpit builder with the intention to build a cockpit with real Instruments.Write to [email protected] or [email protected] Wielgus

Roger,Sorry to hear you are leaving the ranks of pit builders.Best of luck in your other ventures.Mike Powellwww.mikesflightdeck.com

Hi Mike,Not at all. I will never leave this hobby. Impossible. I just quit the idea of making a pit with real instruments driven by servos. I will simply go an easier way what means, FDS panels and Magenta Software, because I will (virtually fly, fly,fly,fly... and not spent nights and days trying to get an instrument working). But before I can go that way I will have to get sell my current items.Anyway thanks for your attention.regardsRoger

Heh, welcome to the club. What might work well for you is a 15-17 inch TFT screen, put it behind a GA-type panel, round gauges work equally well behind holes, and you can just make anything you want with FS Panel Studio or something.Gauges are also very versatile since its easy to change the aircraft type by just making a new panel for a new plane - and possibly a new front hardware panel if the gauge layout is very different.Might be worth keeping the fsbus servo thingy in case you need to do a few simple gauges with servos (like fuel, flaps indicator etc) that are hard to fit in the panel monitor, and would be better on other places in the sim.Good luck and send pics :)Tuomas

Hi Tuomas,The problem with the standard gauges of MSFS ist the poor update rate. That's always been the major concern of all MSFS version. You cannot simulate an IFR flight with the MSFS standard gauges. Gauges have to be moving like the one in Magenta, or like the gauges of X-Plane.My problem is not completely resolved since there is none Turboprop Glass or Analog cockpit gauges as standalone "exe" opengl driven on the market or freeware. Magenta is planning one. Will see. RegardsRoger

Will see. Yeah, I know. The FS2004 Robinson R22 artificial horizon is a bit better than the others. But there are a few options:-> Magenta GA IFR panel is nice and fast but of course costs money-> There's the Reality XP Jetline 2 - those are FS gauges, but vector based and update very smoothly. They will have a FMS too.-> FreeFD for the attitude indicator only. The problem is most bad on the attitude indicator (artificial horzon) anyway, I find the other gauges fast and smooth enough (well, turn coordinator could be smoother too, but that's not as big of a problem)The problem also seems to be not that much in the update rate, but rather on the gauge movement "grid" - the AI moves by one pixel steps - defined byt the pixel size in the gauge *bitmap*. So I am pondering if making a gauge with very big bitmaps for AI would solve the problem..? So far I havent had time to do that yet.But check out the reality XP JetLine 2 - those are exactly same as in King Airs and MD-80 and other small to mid-size planes, there is a demo available in www.reality-xp.comTuomas

Roger,Any chance to see pics of the ADIS and HSI? Might you be willing to sell the fighter instruments separate?Thanks,-Leo

Hi Leo,I do not have any pictures of the HSI.Will try to make one next days. You can see one of the ADI on the attached image. The second one is a Lear Siegler ADI. You can see a part of it on Mikes Real Instrument pages. http://www.mikesflightdeck.com/instrument_panel_4.htmThe HSI is a Collins AQU/2ARegardsRoger

I've seen these and they look great... pthe problem is that, as I understand it, they are for FS2002 and will not run under WideFS. Is that correct?Regards -Mitch
