October 6, 200322 yr Ok I decided to post this in case anyone wanted it or not. It is a zip file with a PCB I created for the FSBUS display module for a 3 display board like you would have on your HDG, CRS, etc. This was my solution for the problem of trying to usea smaller digit LED display instead of the big ones that are compatible with the PCB in the Display zip file. I am going to start work on a 4 and 5 segment board right away and I will post my results to the forum once I get a working copy together. This PCB is good for Fairchild p/n MAN4440A LED Displays. There was another p/n that cross referanced I think but I don't remember it right off hand. Also in the zip file is a readme file that you should read as there is a minor step you need to accomplish prior to etching in order for it to work right. I hope this helps someone.www.mspartcc.com/737sim/3DISPLAYMAN4440A.zipJason
October 9, 200322 yr For your information:at www.fsfan.de you can get some changed fsbus-layouts. The layouts are "bounteous" design, because i had some problems with the fine wire on the board. You find they in "forum" area "database".http://www.rakri.de/flight/wave.gifMany greets! And: sorry, my english is very bad!www.fsfan.de
December 2, 200322 yr Hi!This is what Im looking for. Does anyone have a PCB and schematic for 9 mm 7-seg displays?Cheers!/ Olle
December 2, 200322 yr >Hi!>This is what Im looking for. >>Does anyone have a PCB and schematic for 9 mm 7-seg displays?>>Cheers!>/ Olle>The Technically Inclined or Otherwise Masochistic people can do it with jumper wires as well on a vero board:http://tigert.gimp.org/vatsim/albums/mik_r...t/aab.sized.jpgThat's a custom 4-digit display for transponder (you can see the encoders on the same veroboard) and the digits have the contacts on the sides. The front side:http://aerodome.net/gallery-kuvat/album21/IMG_2909.sized.jpgFor the curious, the front plate is plain laser-printed paper that is laminated (paper cut out from the 7-segments place to make a clear "window" on the laminate. Plywood backing for strength on the piece.Yes, it works. Yes, it was painful to solder as (h,w)ell.. :)The actual wiring is not that hard, there are just lots of wires that go to the segments.Tuomas
December 8, 200322 yr Looks good, nice work! But I really would like to make the PCB and work from that. I dont think I have what it takes for that kind of soldering work :-)Does Anyone have the PCBs originally posted in this thread? They dont seem to be on AVSIM anymore...If anyone have them, please repost them or send them to meCheers!/ Olle R
