Duck Delays - 3rd Party Software Error

Recommended Posts

Guest Heather 636

G'Day!The Duck flies and runs great on my system. Three out of four of my Beta testers are happy with it, the fourth one having problems that I cannot emulate, therefore fix. None of the rest of us have that problem. It is addressed in the "Troubleshooting" section of the read-me file.I am all but ready to upload the Grumman J2F-6 Duck to the AVSIM library except for one problem.I have put together an installation.exe file and went to test it on both my system, which worked fine, and on another computer that has the basic default installation of FS2002.On this other computer, when I try to select the Duck to fly, I get one Error message after another in regards to the gauges that were made by Bill Morad. I don't get this on my main computer that I use daily, nor did any of the other testers have this problem.http://imagehost.auctionwatch.com/preview/...oah42/ERROR.JPGI have seen it on a few other occasions with other aircraft downloaded previously, but it is rare.I cannot upload this aircraft until I know what causes this and how to remedy it as I will be inundated with emails from people wanting to know what the problem is!!??Oh yeah, I did what it said and read the "Read Me" but it didn't help much or else I wouldn't be posting this here.Help!!Heather

You're right, Rob, but then Heather would have to tell all downloaders to do that for ten Bill Morad gauges in their own FS2002.CFG files, which isn't what she wants, I'm sure. He'll sort her out ... but in the meantime, your note is a useful pointer to people who get that message with other panels e.g. David Durst's wonderful Lear35 panel.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/reds.htmlhttp://www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitakv3.jpg

Thanks guys for the tips.I had finally tracked the problem down to the MODULES folder. I compared what was in my computer, where everything worked, to the folder in the "bad" computer.By process of elimination and trial and error, I discovered the computer that was having the problem was missing the FSSound.dll folder.Popped it in there and now everything is working quite nicely.I need to make a few edits in the read_me file but after that, hope to upload this baby in the next day or so. Going to do it from a friend's house who has DSL.Oh, Mark, don't worry about the topic of your earlier message, I fully understand what it is to be busy.Again, thanks for the tips.Cheers!Heather
