Best Projector for FS9

Featured Replies

I wonder if I could trouble you for your opinions on the best PC projector to use for FS9. My system will probably be a P4 (Intel mb socket 478), 3GHz w/512 cache, 800 MHz FSB, Hyper-threading, a good gig of DDR RAM and an ATI TV in and out video card (9800-XT?). I plan to use my PC as a home entertainment centre for TV, movies and particularly FS9. I am hearing a lot about DLP technology. However, even the most expensive DLP XGA projector seems to be locked at 24 bit (16.7 million) colours and a native 1024 x 768 resolution. I have tried an older "InFocus" LP750 and the colours just won't do it (not to mention 800 x 600 res). Please let me know if I should try out another forum for this info. Thanks in advance.

I thought the Infocus LP750 was 1024x768 ?I have two LP735s and love them for both TV and computer usage. Oddly, one has much deeper color than the other. What don't you like about it? How far are you from the screen, and what do you use for a screen?Perhaps your video adapter is set incorrectly (?)Kev

Hi Kev,Your right about the LP750. It is XGA. But I found the colours blanched and scraped looking. Perhaps my video card (in my current PC) and/or drivers were not set properly. I currently have an AMD Tbird 1700, ASUS mb and GT2 (nVidia driver 29.42) 32mb video card. I used the direct monitor (pin) hook-up to the projector. When I use the PS2 (RCA plug connection) the picture looks great. Maybe I should try it out again and fiddle with the video settings. Thanks for answering Kev.
