Well, several people told me, that sometimes the airbus displays show the letters "Std".Until now, it was not possible, because the firmware supports only numbers from 0-9 a minus and a blank. Now i added the letters "S" "t" and "d". The t is a bit ugly, because it is not possible to show on 7-segments.But so far i don't know when an airbus shows this word. If somebody would explain this, it will help a lot.- Dirk

Hmmm...The 'Std' appears on the QNH/Barometric pressure display on the upper left part of the 'EFIS' panel. That display shows the selected barometric pressure either in Inches or Hectopascal or the letters 'Std' when standard pressure is selected. When the pilot passes through the transition altitude he/she presses the barometric selector knob and the standard pressure 1013/29.92 is set/used by the altimeters. That display then changes to 'Std'. If the knob is pressed again the last selected baro setting is restored and displayed. As for the 't' in the 7segs displays, yeah, it does look a bit ugly, but it's better than nothing. A solution would be the ability to use 15Segments alphanumeric displays but that would require changes to the code, firmware, PCBs etc... I think the best way to make it (don't know how you do it now) is to display it as (if you can make anything out of it!) :| -| -Does this help at all ?George DorkofikisAthens, Greece
