Multiple Monitors

Featured Replies

Hello,Im currently building an A320 Fixed Based Simulator with the mock-up and everything. Even though it's a similar mock-up not a full scale thing I tried to recreate the lay-ot of the diferent mfd's.Because of this I used three monitors wich are all together.A few days ago I noticed one of the PFD showing some kind of flow' or activity, I turned off the monitor wich lies next to the one with the problem and it stopped. What is the minimum distance to avoid this problem?. It's a viewsonic E70f+sb and a viewsonic e773.Thanks a lot for any reply.Best Regards,Roderick Woolvett

I don't know about minimum distances, but try putting a sheet of cardboard covered in aluminum foil between them. DIY shielding :-)Richard

True, you get the same affect by placing normal speakers next to your monitor. The reason monitor-mounted speakers don't interfere with the monitor is because the magnets inside the speakers are shielded. Anything that will interfere with a magnetic field (ie tin foil) can be used as a shield.

One interesting suggestion I remember is to set each monitor to a different refresh rate, so that the magnetic fields are not same frequency, and might not distort that much the neighbouring monitors.Tuomas
