My 737-800 Fwd Overhead Panels

Featured Replies

So guys, what do you think of my Fwd Overhead Panel Section, even with Genuine Dzus fastners.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/52156.jpgSo far I've managed to manufacture the bare sheet metal backing. Over the top of that will go a sheet of perspex and then my etched lettering over that. I'm still trying to nut out how I'm going to do that exactly but its coming along. I've almost finished my rear overhead but still putting in the Dzus fastners, darn that takes a long time!Yours Sincerely,

Wow!I think I see the beginings of a nice deck there.ZK-SHB

Yep, looks pretty good there Brad.....All in Square too !!Now I know who to call to help me with any metal work !!!Can't wait to see all the buttons & switches to start appearing.Cheers Glenn.

Oh my goodness me, he's going one step further than me.... METAL!!I too am currently in the process of designing and making my 737NG, but still lacking a fair few dimensions etc. It'll be great to compare the two, and see just how well they're done! In fact, I might even challenge you to a flight or two in them :D

Thanks for the comments guys! It helps when you've got all the right tools at your disposal. The Dzus's took me about 10hrs all up to put them in and if you haven't noticed I haven't finshed yet, only tacked the corners down.Negotiations for my etched panels fell through today, so I'm having to look into some other of doing them. Bummer!!I've already started drawing up my panels in Pagemaker. Great prgram to use because it gives you diamentions on the desktop. Thats the biggest problem I had was resizing objects easily. If you've got the program, I recommend on using it!Glenn, I've already started getting some guarded and latched switches. Atleast I've have the authentic switches. I've started negotiations with Simulation Hardware (www.simhardware.co.nz), obviously based in New Zealand. They've come up with a nice Annunciator and they'll customise any wording/colour you like. Check them out and maybe we'll get a special by buying together. At the moment I have nowhere to put this sim, so I'll be building section by section and when I do have the room I'll finally put it all together.Talk again soon, and keeps those comments coming in, I really do appreciate them!Kind Regards,BRAD HELLER.
