December 27, 200322 yr Anyone knows how these are called correctly in english ?Cuz i can't find nothing on the net if i don't know the good name.I'm looking for one of those so that i can put my yoke-colum on it. Right now it's quite loos and if I don't hold it, it'd drop against the screen (from the panel).Anyone knows maybe where they sell such things ? Would save me a lot of time.
December 27, 200322 yr I know the non-spring loaded ones are called "double hinges", so I'd assume the spring-loaded ones are "double return hinges." Or just "spring hinges." Worth a shot.Loads of DIY hardware stores may have them, as they're common enough (you can often find them in restaurants attached to the serving door) and if you ask nicely enough, someone might even tell you where to get them :)
December 27, 200322 yr Turns out they're commonly called "double action spring hinges"Hope this helps!
December 28, 200322 yr Heh, I thought of the same idea once. Another thing is the springs they use on those "wind proof" outdoor signs that swing back up when you poke them. Might be even stronger.Tuomas
