LPT switch and IL2/FB

Featured Replies

Hello all, maybe the wrong froum, sorry for that, but I see there are quite a lot of LPT switch users here.My problem: I built an LPT switch, it works fine when I test it in word pad or the windows editor but it doesn't work in IL-2 Forgotten Battles. No input, neither from a push button nor from a switch is recognised.I'm using Win98SE and version 1.3 of the LPT switch program. I'm out of ideas, any help is very much appreciated. Thanks

hmmzthat's weird ..seems this game of yours doesn't take key inputs from another program .. which is weird cuz i think it ends up going via the same way trough your system process as a normal keyboard input .. :/you can use key commands in that game, right ?( sounds logic but .. still .. your problem is also weird :( so i can ask weird questions to *G* )

Philippe, I have the same problem in certain games in Win98 using my Keyboard Studio application (essentially does the same thing as yours). The API functions in Win98 don't work very well like in XP/2000. The only solution is to write virtual device driver (vxd) that would inject the keys into the buffer queue instead of using sendkey() or other API calls which don't work in all cases. It really sux, but there's no workaround for that I'm afraid. Funny thing is that it works perfectly in FS2K2 but in other games like Mech Warrior its a no-go!You should maybe add a disclaimer on your site that it may not work properly in all sims under Win98. I've simply stopped supporting it myself...-Leo

support you say ?that would've worked a few night ago but now my answer will be:it's OPEN SOURCE !! fix it ! let yourself go wild !;p
