January 19, 200422 yr Hi,I spend quite a lot of time last saturday trying to make the FSBUS COM board to work.I got perfect signals everywhere except on the MCLR pins...I got +0.3V to -13.xxV out of my PC does that sound correct ? (I've read somewhere that on some PCs the out voltage of the com port might not be sufficient to drive the COM port had any of you had the problem ?)My problem is that it doesn't appear to be sufficient to switch the transitor on/off...I tried with another computer (My laptop) didn't worked neither, I had same kind of voltages...Anyone can help ?BP4
January 19, 200422 yr Have you tried connecting a 9-12v power supply to the power terminals on the board? It won't work if you're merely using the pc to provide power via the cable
January 20, 200422 yr thanks for pointing that out but yes I have a power supply connected. (I used 9 and 12 Volts) I got a good 13 volts on the MCLR pin, my problem is that it never comes down...

You need a full RS-232 cable, not just the "null modem" one with 4 wires or so.Tuomas
