Boeing classic dimensions

Featured Replies

I'm building a B727-223adv using real panels. But because I can't find a real cockpit here in the UK, I am going to make the shell from aluminium sheet. I have loads of pics and some dimensions, but what I really really need are cockpit dimensions so that I can start cutting the outer skins. I'm looking for drawings which would go from the rear of the nosecone back to the rear of the Flight deck side windows.A front elevation ,side elevation and plan would be ideal, even if there is only a scale and no measurements at least then I could work something out. It's really all about being able to get the contours correct. The absolutely best solution would be a cad drawing, but I guess that a dream.A707 or 737 drawing would do just fine too. Can anybody help ?

Have you tried Airsalvage at http://www.airsalvage.co.uk ? They often have Boeing cockpits available at fairly reasonable prices considering the rarity of these aircraft being scrapped withing the UK these days. (Most airlines use those huge boneyards in the states.Airsalvage sent me a copy of what they currently have in which is as follows:-1) A310

Oh did I mention that I'm willing to pay for drawings? And thanks Chris, do I know you m8 ?

I doubt you do know me but you never know! I live in Billericay, Essex if that means anything to you!Chris

Ideally, you want to try and get hold of a structual repair manual for a 727 or even a 707/737. This will contain most of the information you require. You might get lucky and find one on Ebay, try the US site.As Chris suggested, try Air Salvage, to see if they have any 727's to part-out/scrap in the near future. I bought an EMB110 flightdeck (regional turboprop) from them, just over 3 years ago at a very reasonable price.

Thanks chaps, I've already been in touch with ASI , actually my panels originally came from them via a third party. They only have an airbus nose at the moment and I wouldn't say that 5000 quid+vat was reasonable ! Anyway I'm continuing to pursue further methods of getting the dimensions that I need, after 2 years looking tho it's pretty much doin my head in ! I know another Chris in Essex, different one obviously.
