FSBus LED voltage

Recommended Posts

Guest Ceawlin BSX029

Can't quite make my mind up about this, but what voltage should the LED's be? I can't work out whether I need 5v (which I'm sure is the right answer) or 12v (which seems a bit high)Can someone point me in the right direction?

Most LEDs are 1.5V to 5V. I have pulsing 12V LEDs as brake lights on my motorcycle..... they leave you with red spots on your retinas from about 100 yards :-)Richard

Cheers for the info! Somehow I think I'll avoid the 12v LED's, I don't fancy the idea of having a burnt out retina with flashing white dots in my vision on finals ;)

If you really need some special 12V LED a simplecircuit with a unique transistor and some resitorscould connect them with the 1.5V FSLED outputs...BOB
