May 11, 200422 yr Looks to me like you're missing some wires. You need a minimum of 3 wires connected for a rotary to work in both directions, except that yours has 4 pins. Is it an optical rotary perhaps? What kind of encoding does it use?
May 11, 200422 yr You're fortunate it's working...Probably (and i mean i'm guessing), central 2 pins are for power, outer two are for actual output.May even be already decoded rotaries, don't know.
