Question about EICAS Caution and Annunciator Panel on 757/767's

Hi guys, Does anyone here familiar with the EICAS Caution and Annunciator Panel on 757/767's or aircraft with a similar system help me with the following question.......do these annunciators, "Windshear", "Speedbrakes", "A/P DISC" for example simply light up when a condition exists and extinguish when the situation is resolved or the cancel button is pressed or do they have to be manually pressed to extinguish? I doubt the later, but can anyone confirm?

The annunciators are just that, annunciators - they merely announce the existance of a condition. Some serious ones (engine fire, for example) may be connected to an "accept" button and will flash / sound a tone until accepted, and then stay on steadily, but none of them will stay on if the condition no longer exists - nor can they be turned off if the condition doesn't exist.Richard
