September 3, 200421 yr Hi all...a quick question I have been debating on the interface card route to go - FSBUS vs IOCARDS vs Simkits. I also have reciently bought Mike Powell's book on building instruments which has me wanting to tinker. Here's my question...assuming nothing else on the FSBUS except motor / servo controllers, how many instruments can one control? I'd like to make a replica of a BELL 206B and have figured on 12 servos and 8 steppers. Can FSBUS do this? What are the max of controllers? Thanks!!PS. Here's my setup so far...http://mywebpages.comcast.net/nmkimzey/sim/index.htmThanks again!- Mike
September 3, 200421 yr My understanding is that you can have up to 30 or 31 controllers, all you need to do is go to fsbus.de and find out how many steppers or servos you can have on each controller.I think you should be able to do what you need easily.David
September 3, 200421 yr FSBUS have a maximum of 30 controllersA FSSERVO controller control 8 servo-motorsA FSSTEPPER controls 2 steppersome calculations:You'll 12 servo = 2 FSSERVO controllers (= 16 servo )add 8 stepper = 4 FSSTEPPER controllersTOTAL 6 controllers needed you'll still have about 28 controllers ID free ...But you'll need to built the gauge ...
September 3, 200421 yr Mike,>PS. Here's my setup so far...>http://mywebpages.comcast.net/nmkimzey/sim/index.htmNice :-)I like how you built the frame out pipes and the bent thin wood (is it wood? It looks like those back walls of a cabinet). How about explaining a bit how you built it in the simbuilders Wiki:http://wiki.varxec.netThis page should be a good place:http://wiki.varxec.net/Shells_20_26_20framesJust click "Create this page" and start typing. If you are not familiar with Wikis, read the wiki front page.Manuel
