December 14, 200421 yr Seems I'll have to break up my sim in some time.Thing is my sim is now inside the house that my parents rent and the owners plan to sell it by mid-sumer 2006. I am quite sure that my parents will buy or rent a house that will be much smaler than the one we got now (is relatively cheap to rent compared to its size) so I don't know what my sim will look like by 2006. Will it look like a few big boxes or like a sim ... who knows!Either way this should not mean the end of my project. However it might be a good time to lay down the tools and start planing the beak-up. I can still work on the interfaces etc. Then maybe I will be able to re-build it in a good few years and do it with panels made by DakenSky cuz it seems like I got him convinced. Time enough then for me to gather info, pictures, dimensions etc on those and gather funds (!!) for those.Yeah well .. stuff happens, don' it ?
December 14, 200421 yr Why don't rent a small local or a car garage to install your stuff...Or better assiciate with other FS addicted of your city found a Simmer association and install in a room ....BOB
December 14, 200421 yr Hard to realise.First of all, I have no idea where I will end up now. Might well be not in the same city. Then I don't have money for renting a garage. And the FSCB (flight sim club belgium) doesn't have it's own buildings .. they have agreements with the owners to use them 1 time every month.

December 14, 200421 yr Hey dude, good thing you quoted me for else your signature would take up more space than your msg :( :-lolNo seriously, with the "what if" thing I was just wondering.. now with the moving thing it will happen (unless my parents buy the house but that's most unlikely to happen).I would be most in favour of getting my sim rebuild inside some sort of hangar or garage where I know it can stay for a long time. This way it doesn't need to be broken up to be moved. It could be mounted on a few pallets with weels underneeth and when needs to be moved, just a van & a forklift will do :(Oh well, whatever .. I will be happy if:- I get the gauges from Espen working (so that I can read led statusses trough fsuipc)- I get real nice looking panels via DS- I get this PHCC working and those nice small negative-backlit LCD's.Even if my sim is put into boxes, .. if those 3 conditions are OK .. I'll be happy just the same. Cuz then I know .. just a few days rebuidling & mounting the panels etc and vwala my sim is 85% finished.Ow btw, .. good thing I didn't just wreck my joystick ej :-lol Remember I got the print out of it and can re-connect it to the joystick as an external interface or connect it to the sim. Now at least I will be able to fly desktop-style :D
December 15, 200421 yr Hi Fokker man,Why dont you make a bit smaller version to the table following same method that Tigert (Tuomas) did or what FlightDeckSolution has (FlightCenter). You can keep in that system overhead but what you loose is pedestal. Make it modular so you can easily transfer that to the table and away when you dont fly or build.Think about it, then when you get more space you can continue to the floor as you have it now. With your imagination, I think we could see a nice approach to cpit building!Take care,Joni
