[Opencockpits] Display card problem, any guru's out the...

Featured Replies

A friend congratulated me for blowing up some of my ICs When i was playing around to get the decimal point on an 7-segment LED - for frequency - working the card suddenly stopped working. I guess i did something wrong... All was working perfectly before that, all LED's displayed the frequencies correctly :(Now i have a simple question (and hopefully a simple answer): What is the best way to debug a problem with the card? 1) Is it correct that the display card uses pin 1 and pin 2 to get current? 2) Is it correct to state that messuring volts on pin 1 of common cathode (on the display card) and pin 1 of the first display (on display card connector) should give 2 volts? > note: after i have clicked on the ALL ON-button, off course? 3) Can i connect a simple LED or so? and off course: what is the correct way to lite up the decimal point? > please in beginners language, since i just blew the card up... i can connect +5V to the card (getting this from the master card? > where exactly?) with a resistor of ? Ohms between them... Right now my display card doen't display anything anymore and pin 1 and 2 of the IDE connector get 5 volts... I allready tried another EPROM, but without luck... HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP! Thanks for any help, i've searched the whole day for the reason/solution and didn't find any... Thierry Botten
