March 10, 200521 yr does anyone have any experiance with the Flight illusion gauges? They look pretty neat on their website and I think they are rather new, since there was a press release on dimflight network just today.I found them at http://www.flightillusion.com . The design is much slimmer than simkits and they seem to be cheaper. Who has bought them already?Should I invest in this technology? because a full cockpit would cost about 2000 euro worth of gauges, which is a lot cheaper than simkits or the real cockpit panels?and what about seagull simulation instruments? It seems that all of them are dutch companies. Are they one and the same?
March 10, 200521 yr They are different when you look at their contact-adress :)The gauges look indeed really small, will save a lot of weight. And if the prices is as small, why not?Maybe start with one gauge, see if it's good enough, then go for the full cockpit (if you want to of course)
March 11, 200521 yr Mitch Morrell has the flight illusion guages in his kingair sim and he says that they are real nice, and from the pics I have to agree.I'm just waiting to see what Simkits releases in the way of twin instruments before I decide, but if i do turn my Queenair into a Kingair then I will certainly be buying the flight illusions setup.I've been in contact with seagull and their instruments look really nice, but who knows when they will be released ?Something else to bear in mind is that Flight illusion give a 5 week waiting time for the Kingair instruments
March 11, 200521 yr I just noticed that FI has reworked their website. Will be offering online shopping, a forum, and credit card purchases. Maybe the five week construction time will be shortened.Richard
March 12, 200521 yr MarcI bought a set of Flight illusion engine gauges in oktober last year and I am very pleased with them. I used them in a beech 1900 setup, for which they were ideal, since they were an axact replica of the king air set of gauges. But you can also use them for other aircraft, like the Piaggo. in fact every two engine turboprop is an ideal plane for using these gauges. They seem to have updated their website and they now also offer other instruments. The concept is interesting, since they use stepper motor technology, which gives very smooth movements. I remember that visitors at the aviadrome weekend last year were amazed how thin teh instrumens were and how professional they looked. I used simkits instruments to simulate the other instruments, but I will definatly look at the Flight illsuion gauges for flap indication or radar altimeter. In one word: I'm happy with them, so if their new instruments are the same quality, I can recommend them to you.Simbuff
