Trouble with home built rudder pedals

Featured Replies

Hi All,I have recently built a set of Flight Sim rudder pedals using the guts of a USB joystick. All I did was canabalize the throttle axis for the rudder axis and two buttons for left and right brake. Hence when I plug it in the computer sees it not as rudder pedals but as USB joystick with POV. I can override this by re-assigning axis's and buttons when I load Flight Sim but when I do this it makes the elevator axis of my joystick very very sensitive, and adjusting the sensitivity doesn't seem to help.Part of the problem may be that the joystick I am using for flying is the same type as the joystick that I used to make the rudder - so the computer sees two identical joysticks, one of which I am overriding in Flight Sim.If anyone can help with the setup to get rid of these problems I would really appreciate it.CheerioBrett Canada
